Audition Information

Kingsford production team held auditions for our short film ‘Lesson Learnt’ on Friday they 11th of December at 11:00am. To advertise our auditions we put up posters with all the details on around the school, we also went around to certain form groups to tell the students about the auditions and what they would involve. Our auditions had a good turn out and we managed to cast our entire film in one audition process. This is who we have cast to be in our film:

Douglas – Keegan Featherstone

Fuchsia – Emmaline Gordon

Dead Body #1- Alex Cockburn

News Reporter #1- Glynn Harries

News Reporter #2- Gemma Peacock

We cast Keegan Featherstone as the antagonist in our film as he fitted all the criteria of what we thought the killer should be, he has the right type of look, from his dark scruffy hair to his powerful build. Also Keegan is a brilliant actor, especially when it comes to being the villian in a piece, so as a group we was pleased that we was able to get Keegan to star in our film.
As a team we are really pleased with who we have cast, we feel that we have all the characters we need and who we have cast meets our character description well. Within the opening of the film that we are filming there is not much speech as we feel it adds to the suspense and horror of the piece. Therefore when casting our film we had the actors improvise what they thought there character would say. We also asked certain characters to pretend to be dead etc. in order to get into there role. However News Reporter #1 and #2 both read this section from our script:

Reporter 1: Today we are here at Chelmer Valley High School, where a number of past students from the leaving class of 1995 have been reported missing.

Reporter 2: Police have been working long and hard to try and find any connection between all the disappearances, and all they can find is that all these people where in the same leaving year group here at Chelmer Valley in 1995.

Reporter 1: The police will continue their search to find links to the disappearances, if anybody has any information please contact the number at the bottom of the screen

As a whole we are really pleased with how our auditions went and we are happy with whom we have cast to be in out short film. We have made sure that everyone that we have cast in our film is over the age of sixteen for legal reasons. The purpose of the auditons was to find suitable actors to play the parts in the opening of our horror film, whether it be a dead body or the antagonist himself we was on the look out for a certain type of actor for each part, and due to the excellent audition we held, that went by without a hitch we was able to get all the good quality actors that we needed to star in our film.
