First Draft of Lesson Learnt

Heres our incompleted first draft of our horror film. The pub scenes and another clip are not yet included in this opening as the the clips are unavialable to us at this point. However once we have the clips they will be added to this draft and we will be closer to getting our final product finished. At the moment this draft is about 1minute 25 seconds long and with the added pub scene and the other dead body clip, the film should be almost exactly 2 minutes long.

Update

Most of the filming has been done and now we have uploaded all of the footage we have so far ready to be edited for our final piece. First, were checking through the footage we have, deleting the shots that we either do not need or are not very good, this is so we have time to re-film any scenes that arn't very good to allow improvements to be made. Also, some scenes we cant film until we have edited some of the footage we already have.

Making the Fake Blood

Fake Blood

Ingredients

• Syrup
• Peanut Butter
• Water
• Flour
• Red Food Colouring
• Chocolate Spread
• Chocolate Powder

We tested several sets of ingredients in order to find which one produced the best blood alternative, and we came to the conclusion that the ingredients listed above worked the best. We have filmed the making of our fake blood to show exactly what we did and how we did it. We feel that the fake blood looks really good, and is around the same consistency of blood so this makes it look more real. We have decided to use fake blood as a prop in our short film as it makes it scarier and makes it more believable to the audience. Therefore we think that the fake blood we are using in our film, is one of the most important props as it adds a great deal to the piece.

Information about props

The main props that we are using will be the killer’s tools which he will use in his garage, one of the main tools that the killer will use will be the welding mask. We have decided to use this as a main prop because we want our killer to seem anonymous throughout our film which adds to the scary oar of the film. The welding mask will cover most of the killer’s face, which will emphasise the appearance that we want our killer to reflect.

Another prop that the killer will be using is the yearbook. This is a major prop which determines the narrative of our film. The yearbook explains and shows the characters that have been murdered by the Killer. The marker pen will also be a key element with the yearbook, because the killer will use this to mark out the victims within the yearbook. We will be creating a yearbook so that we can make changes and adapt it to suit our film.

The least important props that we are going to use will be the van that the audience will only briefly see when the killers put the victims inside the back of it. The other props will be the microphones that the news reporters will be using. The props are least important and affective in contrast to the yearbook and the welding mask. This is because our important props determine the storyline for our film, where as the least important ones just add to the film instead of affecting the storyline. This is an advantage for us because we can add more props into the film without changing the storyline but adding the feel of the film, making it more of a horror film.
